“Stuck In The 90s”

All the electronics are outdated. The technology is all from 20 years ago, like middle school all over again. I walk listening to a Sony portable radio. There’s only access to a very primitive form of the internet, consisting of not-instant email and a knockoff (and expensive) iTunes. My tablet doesn’t have WiFi or internet or anything, it’s basically an iPod Giganto. Social media is writing and receiving letters. Porn only comes in magazines. All internet trends are discovered second hand, thru other people. Cable television is the primary window into society at large.

Despite all the fights and chatter around me, there’s less mental chaos, fewer rabbit holes, the content is milder and obviously choreographed, and the whole sensory experience of everyday life is less ADHD.
